Excerpt from the Preface

Dear Friends and Supporters,
“Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua.” “I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past.” This Māori proverb received with blessings from our Councillor Pauline Tangiora has guided the World Future Council throughout 2025, and it runs like a quiet thread through every page of this report. Progress, for us, has never meant leaving the past behind. It means learning from it, drawing on accumulated wisdom, and carrying forward values that grow more urgent with each passing year.
