WYAP Peace Project

Women and Youth – Agents of Peace

The Project WYAP – Women and Youth Agents of Peace is active in the Southern Caucasus. This project aims to empower women and youth as integral agents of peace by enhancing their capacities, networks, and visibility in the peace-building processes across the region, and thereby contributing to a more resilient and peaceful Southern Caucasus.

Our activities

Seeds of Hope: Nurturing Peace in the South Caucasus

In November 2024, we held a conference in Yerevan, Armenia, bringing together women and youth peace-builders from Armenia and Georgia. The event was an opportunity for the participants to expand their skill sets, learn from each, and grow a network within in the region.

Webinar Series

Our webinar series aims at building a wide range of skills for our participants. From cultural aspects of peace-building, peace-making tools and strategies to legal instruments, as well as navigating “Fake News” and misinformation or creating a communications strategy—the WYAP community gets the opportunity to grow and learn. In our closed Facebook Group, we do follow-up posts or provide additional information:

  • Peacebuilding examples in Germany, Europe, and other conflict regions. Keynote Speakers: Katiana Orluc, Hafsat Abiola-Costello (July 2024)
  • How to Make Communication Relevant and Succesful, Even With Limited Resources. Keynote Speaker: Miriam Petersen (October 2024)
  • Navigating the Noise – Recognizing and Resisting Misinformation. Keynote Speaker: Bridgette Kennedy (December 2024)
  • Leveraging Legal Mechanisms for Sustainable Peacebuilding. Keynote Speakers: Alyn Ware, Rebecca Shoot (February 2025)

Certificate

After the first block of the project, the WYAP participants will receive a certificate as a proof of their participation in the educational modules, which will help them progress their careers.
