The Future Policy Award 2009 celebrated successful policies for food security –policies that create fair and sustainable food systems, be they regional, national or global. The first Future Policy Award was presented by the World Future Council at Hamburg’s historic town hall on October 1, 2009. The Senator for Science and Research and honorary councillor of the World Future Council, Dr. Herlind Gundelach, welcomed the 250 guests in the town hall’s large ballroom.
