Our latest annual report, the “Pathfinder 2015”, provides an overview of our international work since the beginning of 2014. We have been busy bringing together experts from around the world to discuss and share existing solutions to today’s problems.

Study Trip to Belo Horizonte

In an effort towards eradicating malnutrition, a delegation from Namibia has travelled to Brazil to study the successful food and nutrition security programme of the city of Belo Horizonte, strengthen their understanding of food security and sign cooperation agreements. With programmes on urban agriculture, food banks and school lunches, Belo Horizonte has reduced child mortality by 60 percent over the past 12 years, decreasing malnutrition among children to 3%. The study tour was organised by the World Future Council to bring about a knowledge exchange between experts.

Help Ensure Every Child Born is Wanted

None of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) specifically refer to population policies. Yet coherent and sustainable population policies, including universal access to sexual and reproductive health rights, are necessary to achieve the majority of the SDGs. The Global Policy Action Plan (GPACT) recognises these links, and this paper elaborates on the necessity of coherent and future-proof population policies.
