Social entrepreneur, Founder of the Aurat Raaj

Saba Khalid is an award-winning social entrepreneur, public speaker, activist and journalist from Karachi, Pakistan. With prior experience with digital media, print and television, she founded Aurat Raaj in 2017.

Aurat Raaj focuses on using tech for social good, reproductive health education, digital literacy, inclusion and empowerment and rural innovation. Aurat Raaj has won the Vodafone Innovation for Women prize, MIT Solve, Catalyst Prize by the Roddenberry Foundation. Social Venture Zone prize,  The Pollination Project impact prize, Cultural Vistas Prize,  TVE AI empowering the future award, IFA Synergy Prize and many more. Aurat Raaj raised its first investment through the Femtech Lab network. Aurat Raaj has been featured in the Financial Times, The Guardian, Tech for Good Magazine, Pioneers Post, Aurora, Geo News and many more.

Saba has been behind Aurat Raaj’s key product “RAAJI”, a chatbot that educates girls on taboo health, safety and hygiene topics. She has completed prestigious fellowships & residencies such as the KaoPilot+ Berlin, IFA Cross Culture Program, IVLP program, and the Do School fellowship. Her work was featured in BMW Foundation’s study “Tech Innovations Changing the World and published on Sifted Europe.

Saba was a youth delegate at ICPD 2019, IGF2019, and a jury member for the World Summit Awards 2020 on digital innovation. She regularly speaks at large-scale tech conferences on women’s health innovation and was featured in panels at Tech BBQ, World Summit of Arts and Culture in 2019 & British Council’s Youth Summit.

She is a Councillor of the World Future Council.
