Gerhard Stübe

Gerhard Stübe, born 1966 in Bregenz, Austria, derives from a traditional Austrian tradesmen family. He is married and is father of two daughters. He studied law and international management in Innsbruck, Austria, and during his studies, he developed a passion for event organization. Therefore, he established an international event agency in Switzerland after his graduation. In 2000, he was appointed Head of Event Management by the Festspielhaus Bregenz. The Festspielhaus Bregenz played a vital role for the pilot run of the Austrian ecolabel “Green Meeting”, and Stübe was member of the expert commission during this process. The Festspielhaus was one of the first enterprises that were certified to label their events as “Green Meetings”.

Until today, sustainability in event management is at the heart of his work. In this context, he is lead partner in the EU-funded project micelab:bodensee. He is board member of the Austrian Convention Bureau (ACB) and the European Association of Event Centres (EVVC). Under his leadership, the Festspielhaus Bregenz was elected three times among the three best congress centres in the world by the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC).

In 2017, thanks to his initiative, the WFC was able to hold its 10th World Future Forum in the Festspielhaus Bregenz.
