Rights of Children and Youth
Since 2014 our programme ‘The Rights of Children and Youth’ has been working to ensure that the rights of girls, boys and young people are upheld and supported so that they may reach their full potential. Our team has focused on the topics of child protection, education for sustainable development, youth empowerment and championing the rights of young people to grow up in a healthy environment. It is the duty of each state to support these rights and we have been highlighting some of the exemplary policy solutions from around the world helping to make this happen. We have promoted the spread of impactful laws by enabling key stakeholders from different countries to come together and exchange good practice. Alongside these field trips and knowledge sharing events we have developed practical tools for action.
Climate & Energy
While international commitments like the Paris Agreement as well as the Agenda 2030 signal political will for the necessary transformation, it’s not enough. The main gaps lie in the insufficient ambition of national energy and climate targets, the lack of informed policies and measures to scale up renewable energy and energy savings as well as unlock the necessary financial resources. Political action to implement a just transition that leaves no one behind are missing. Therefore, our overall goal is to support local national policy makers to fill the gap between international agreed targets and national action.
Food, Land and Livelihood
Functioning ecosystems form the basis for life on earth and a sustainable way of using our land is key for sustainable development. We spread policy solutions that can end hunger and malnutrition, promote a sustainable use of resources and apply ecological principles. Thorough research of these policies underpins our advocacy work. We advise policy-makers at all levels and encourage and facilitate south – south cooperation concerning food security and sustainable agriculture.
Peace and Disarmament
We identify disarmament policies that contribute to the achievement of peace, sustainable development and security. Help us engage policy-makers and other stakeholders on policy-solutions to the challenges stemming from the continued existence of weapons of mass destruction, the production and trafficking of conventional weapons and the lasting health effects from explosive remnants of war.
