Research Volunteer on Agroecology – Future Policy Award
Marina Venâncio joined the World Future Council in May 2018, as a research volunteer on agroecology at the Future Policy Award team. She is currently a lawyer and a PhD candidate in Ecological Law and Human Rights at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil). Moreover, she is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law Early Career Group, and an associate of the Brazilian Association of Agroecology.
Marina was one of the awardees of the 2016 Green Talents Award, promoted by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research, with her research on the Brazilian agroecological public policies.
She has a keen interested in transdisciplinary research, food law, environmental law and international environmental law, with emphasis to the topics related to agroecology, food security, rural development, climate change, renewable energies and sustainability.
