Culture Manager, Founder of the WAS-TUN! Foundation
Born in March 1971 in Hanover, Germany, Anuschka Lichtenhahn-Pense studied Applied Cultural Sciences in Lüneburg and worked in the area of Public Relations and Project Funding for the Hamburgischen Kulturstiftung (Hamburg Cultural Foundation). Thereafter, she gained marketing experience within an agency for business communication and became the Head of Marketing of the Hamburger Kunsthalle (Hamburg Art Gallery) in 2001. Since 2009 she is heading the Fundraising & Sponsoring Executive Department of the Hamburg Art Gallery and successfully won private sponsors and enterprises to supported the modernisation of northern Germany’s largest museum of art.
After the reopening of the completely renewed Hamburger Kunsthalle in 2016, the fundraising expert and married mother of two took a sabbatical in order to support a reorientation in terms of content. From the strong need and due to the increasing challenges for our planet to actively shape the future with one’s own generation, Anuschka founded the Was-Tun! Foundation together with her husband and friends in 2017, a private foundation for social commitment. The Was-Tun! Foundation promotes democracy, education, environmental protection and a sustainable way of living and initiates projects that animate people to participate. Furthermore, Anuschka Lichtenhahn-Pense is a board member of the Förderstiftung Hamburger Kunsthalle (Foundation to promote the Hamburg Art Gallery).
She serves as ambassador of the World Future Council since June 2017.
