Hafsat Abiola ist Aktivistin f\u00fcr Menschen- und B\u00fcrgerrechte. Am 5. Juni 2018 wurde sie zur Pr\u00e4sidentin der Women in Africa (WIA) Initiative ernannt. Die globale Plattform engagiert sich f\u00fcr die wirtschaftliche Weiterentwicklung und die Unterst\u00fctzung von f\u00fchrenden und hochqualifizierten Frauen in Afrika. Sie ist Gr\u00fcnderin der Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND), die sich f\u00fcr die St\u00e4rkung der Zivilgesellschaft und die F\u00f6rderung der Demokratie in Nigeria einsetzt. 2008 gr\u00fcndete Abiola die Organisation China Africa Bridge, um sicherzustellen, dass die enger werdenden chinesisch-afrikanischen Beziehungen beiden Seiten nutzen.
