Er setzt sich daf\u00fcr ein, Gemeinschaften zum Schutz, zur Heilung und zur Erhaltung der Umwelt zusammenzubringen, indem er generationen\u00fcbergreifendes, ganzheitliches und erfahrungsorientiertes Wissen einsetzt. Er war Gastprofessor am Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Lund, in Schweden. W\u00e4hrend seiner fr\u00fcheren T\u00e4tigkeit unterst\u00fctzte und beriet er mehrere internationale Organisationen, darunter die Agenturen der Vereinten Nationen und die internationale Union f\u00fcr die Erhaltung der Natur (IUCN). In seiner letzten Amtszeit hat er die Vereinten Nationen in den Jahren 2016-2022 in den Bereichen Frieden und Regierungsf\u00fchrung fachlich beraten, unter anderem bei der Zusammenf\u00fchrung aller 14 UN-Organisationen, der Regierung, privater und zivilgesellschaftlicher Akteure im Rahmen dieser Themen und bei der Erreichung der Ziele f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung in Sri Lanka. Neshan engagiert sich in mehreren internationalen Organisationen, unter anderem als Direktor der International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms (IALANA), als Mitglied des Lenkungsausschusses der Ecological Law and Governance Association (ELGA), als Ko-Vorsitzender der Earth Trusteeship Working Group und als Lead Counsel, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions am Zentrum f\u00fcr internationales Recht f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung.<\/p>\n<p>Neshan hat die Arbeit des World Future Council seit deren Gr\u00fcndung im Jahr 2007 unterst\u00fctzt, unter anderem als politischer Berater f\u00fcr die Pionierarbeit der Kommission f\u00fcr Zukunftsgerechtigkeit (Future Justice Commission), und er hat Projekte in einer Vielzahl von Bereichen unterst\u00fctzt, darunter der Zusammenhang zwischen Atomkraft und Klima, Verbrechen gegen k\u00fcnftige Generationen und internationale Gerichtsh\u00f6fe, Rechte k\u00fcnftiger Generationen und die Arbeit an den Future Policy Awards. Derzeit ist er Ko-Vorsitzender der Friedens- und Abr\u00fcstungskommission und der Arbeitsgruppe f\u00fcr den UN-Zukunftsgipfel. Im Jahr 2020 wurde Neshan mit dem The S.E. Judge C.G. Weeramantry International Justice Award f\u00fcr seinen Einsatz f\u00fcr Gerechtigkeit und die Einbeziehung aller V\u00f6lker w\u00e4hrend und nach Konflikten, insbesondere in Sri Lanka und der s\u00fcdasiatischen Region, durch verschiedene globale, regionale und nationale Institutionen und seine kontinuierlichen Beitr\u00e4ge in den Bereichen Frieden, Konflikttransformation und nachhaltige Entwicklung ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n<p>Neshan ist ausgebildeter Jurist und P\u00e4dagoge mit Spezialkenntnissen in den Bereichen Friedenskonsolidierung, Konflikttransformation, internationales Recht \u2013 einschlie\u00dflich humanit\u00e4res V\u00f6lkerrecht und Menschenrechte -, internationale Beziehungen, Multilateralismus, \u00f6ffentliche Diplomatie, pr\u00e4ventive Diplomatie, Anwaltschaft, Umweltschutz und F\u00fchrungsqualit\u00e4ten. Er tr\u00e4gt weiterhin zu verschiedenen Projekten in den Bereichen Friedenskonsolidierung, Konfliktbew\u00e4ltigung, Umweltschutz und Bildung in verschiedenen Teilen der Welt bei. Au\u00dferdem widmet er sich weiterhin der Wiederherstellung des Vertrauens in unsere Erde durch den Einsatz von Recht und die Anwendung der Grunds\u00e4tze der Generationengerechtigkeit und des Earth Trusteeship.<\/p>\n<p>Dar\u00fcber hinaus ist er ein leidenschaftlicher Sportler und engagiert sich in der Sportverwaltung und der F\u00f6rderung des Sportsgeistes. Er unterst\u00fctzt verschiedene Menschen dabei, Sport zu treiben, auch Menschen mit Behinderungen, und nutzt den Sport als Mittel zur Integration und F\u00fchrung.
