Beispielsweise wird jede Tonne CO2, die heute von uns in die Atmosph\u00e4re emittiert wird, f\u00fcr Jahrhunderte dort verbleiben und das Klima jetzt und in der Zukunft beeinflussen. Ein Fluss, der verschmutzt ist, kann von sp\u00e4teren Generationen nicht mehr genutzt werden. Daher ist es nur gerecht und sinnvoll, mit allen unseren Ressourcen so umzugehen, dass sie f\u00fcr unsere Kinder, Enkel und deren Nachkommen noch genutzt werden k\u00f6nnen &#8211; damit diese in W\u00fcrde leben und wirken k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Politik handelt oft nur im Hinblick auf die n\u00e4chste Legislaturperiode; weite Teil der Wirtschaft schauen nur auf kurzfristige Profite. Das Prinzip der Generationensgerechtigkeit sieht vor, dass wir kommende Generationen stets mit bedenken: Das <em>7th Generation Principle<\/em> etwa ber\u00fccksichtigt das Wohlergehen von 7 Generationen nach uns, was rund 150 Jahre w\u00e4ren. Wir wissen zwar nicht, wie das Leben der Menschen dann aussehen wird &#8211; aber wir wissen vieles dar\u00fcber, was die Menschheit zum (\u00dcber-)Leben braucht: Handlungsm\u00f6glichkeiten, eine sichere und gesunde Umgebung, Zugang zu sauberem Wasser, gesundem Essen, sauberer Energie, Lebensraum zum Wirken und Lernen, ein kulturelles Erbe, und vieles mehr.<\/p>\n<p>Zuk\u00fcnftige Generationen sind aber naturgem\u00e4\u00df heute nicht da, um f\u00fcr ihre Rechte einzutreten; jemand muss dies f\u00fcr sie tun. Eine Ombudsperson f\u00fcr zuk\u00fcnftige Generationen kann diese Rolle institutionalisieren. Unabh\u00e4ngig davon sind Zukunftsgerechtigkeit und Generationengerechtigkeit Konzepte, die alles politisches, wirtschaftliches und kulturelles Handeln bestimmen muss &#8211; sonst ist das
