Jared Duval, Author and Senior Fellow, ecoAmerica
Jared Duval, 24, is the author of the forthcoming book, 'Keeping Our Promise'. His writing focuses on practicing democracy in ways that can realize historic opportunities for human progress. From 2005 to 2007 Jared was the National Director of the Sierra Student Coalition (SSC), the national student chapter of the Sierra Club and the largest student environmental organization in America. Originally from the Upper Connecticut River Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire, Jared was the youngest member of Howard Dean's policy team during the 2004 Presidential election. He has also done international public health work with "Straight Talk St. Mary's," a student run, peer to peer HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention program that he started while teaching economics in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Jared is currently a Senior Fellow with ecoAmerica, a non-profit research and marketing agency that catalyzes environmental programs and communications efforts to appeal to mainstream Americans. A David Brower award winner and recipient of the Morris K. Udall and Harry S. Truman scholarships, Jared graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 2005.
