Forests for People
Rwanda's successful forest policy is explored in a new book titled “Forests for People – Insights into Rwanda’s Prized Forest Policy”. Rwanda's National Forest Policy, which we awarded with the 2011 Future Policy Award, has halted deforestation and the country's forested area has even increased by 37 per cent since 1990. Our Future Policy Award aims to draw global attention to good policies and encourage other countries to introduce comparable measures. The book illustrates the Rwandan Forest Policy in an understandable and enjoyable way and promises “a story of world records, brave people, rare animals and good solutions for the challenges of our time”.
Wälder für Menschen
"Wälder für Menschen - Einblicke in die ausgezeichnete Waldpolitik Ruandas“ heißt ein neues Buch des World Future Council. Ruandas Waldpolitik haben wir 2011 mit unserem Future Policy Award ausgezeichnet. Das Land hat sein Waldgebiet seit 1990 um 37 Prozent vergrößert. Mit dem Future Policy Award wollen wir Aufmerksamkeit für gute Politik schaffen und andere Länder ermutigen, vergleichbare Maßnahmen umzusetzen. Das Buch berichtet verständlich und unterhaltsam über die ruandische Waldpolitik: „Es geht um Weltrekorde, mutige Menschen, seltene Tiere und um gute Lösungen für die Herausforderungen unserer Zeit.“
