WFC Delhi Office

The Delhi office coordinates the World Future Council’s activities in India in collaboration with WFC Councillors from the region: Dr Vandana Shiva (Founder of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology), Dr Ashok Khosla (Director of the Centre for Development Alternatives) and Dr Vithal Rajan (Social Activist and Writer). Considering that one third of the world’s population lives in India and that India’s economy is growing rapidly, it is vital to influence climate and energy policies there.

WFC Member of the Executive Committee Dr Vandana Shiva’s Navdanya organization, a national movement to protect the diversity and integrity of living resources, is hosting the WFC office in Delhi. The Delhi office focuses on promoting renewable energy in India, aiming to build coalitions and influence decision-makers. Other activities are related to Agriculture and Climate Change, exploring the relationship between the two. The WFC supports Navdanya’s efforts in biodiversity conservation and the promotion of organic farming as a response to Climate Change. The WFC KidsCall campaign has been particularly successful in India, with numerous Indian participants voicing their concerns about climate change and appealing to political leaders to act.
